JavaScript Blowfish Encryption

Welcome to Spider Crypt, Blowfish based encryption and decryption in your browser.

Blowfish is a licence free, unpatented, encryption algorithm designed by Bruce Schneier. Spider Crypt is written in JavaScript, and for the encryption and decryption runs solely in the browser, the server is not involved with either process.

Spider Crypt is quite a fast encryption and decryption system. Cipher text is represented by a hex string, only new lines for display formating are allowed beyond the standard set of hexadecimal characters (0 - f).

Spider Crypt works for UTF-7 encoded keys and UTF-8 encoded text. Key length extends to 112 characters (448 bits). The longer the key the better the potential security, though the key is rotated to create a 448 bit key each time.

The resulting cipher code is typically twice as long as the plain text plus any new lines for display formating.
